Open Science & Open Access

The University of Cologne supports the principles of Open Science and thereby contributes to a free and open scientific culture that values open exchange, transparency, and reproducibility.

We are convinced that this leads to better research results and greater societal benefit. Furthermore, it strengthens public trust in scientific findings. The USB Cologne is a partner of the Open Science Center Cologne (OSCC), which coordinates and consolidates the University of Cologne’s Open Science activities.

In our courses and workshops on Open Science, we not only discuss transparency and reproducibility, but also provide hands-on guidance on how structured data processes and collaborative work can actually be implemented. Our goal is to support students and researchers in gradually integrating open science principles into their own work.
