The virtual 360° tour

With the virtual 360° tour, the University and City Library of Cologne can be experienced digitally. Interested parties can explore the publicly accessible areas of the library conveniently in their browser before their visit and get a clear impression of the rooms, services and orientation options.

Beta-Version of the 360° tour: https://ub360.uni-koeln.de/

Part of the "Virtual Campus" project at the University of Cologne

The tour was created as part of the University of Cologne's "Virtual Campus" project(https://virtueller-campus.uni-koeln.de/). The aim of the project is to improve orientation and navigation on campus through digital applications - including web applications, augmented reality offerings and 360° tours. There is a particular focus on accessibility and making information and services as easy to access as possible.

Realistic. Interactive. Rich in information.

For the virtual tour, the public areas of the library were extensively documented photographically and digitally processed using 360° panoramas. The result is a realistic tour that enables users to get to know the USB Cologne independently and find their way around before visiting the library. The tour is supplemented by multimedia annotations that provide additional information on rooms, services and usage options.

Currently in beta stage - your opinion counts!

The virtual 360° tour is currently still in the beta phase and is being continuously developed - both in terms of content and technology. We are currently working intensively on the mobile view in particular.

A bug report is linked in the menu in the tour itself, which you can use to provide direct feedback. You are also welcome to send us an e-mail(360tour(at)ub.uni-koeln(dot)de). Any constructive feedback helps us to improve the tour.
