Background

To give viewers a deeper understanding of the films and the cultural, political and social conditions of the time, short film discussions will take place before the screenings. Film journalist Christian Meyer-Pröbstl (20.10) and Prof. Dr. Lisa Gotto (27.10), media scientist at the University of Vienna, will talk about the history and aesthetics of the films shown, while Stefan Lewejohann, historian, research assistant, collection manager and curator at the Cologne City Museum, will provide fascinating insights into the fading 1920s on both dates. Both screening dates will be moderated by Ms Marie-Anne Schlolaut. Ms Schlolaut is, among other things, a freelance editor for the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.
