Support with costs for open access publications

Open Access enables you to publish your research results worldwide, freely accessible and reusable without legal or technical barriers. Many Open Access publishers charge authors publication costs for this: either Article Processing Charges (APCs) or Book Processing Charges (BPCs). As a scientist at the University of Cologne / University Hospital Cologne, you have various options for financing these costs.

As the central coordination centre for Open Access publication funding, the University and City Library of Cologne has concluded further contracts with academic publishers to promote Open Access in addition to the DEAL project. In addition, we have been supporting authors at the University of Cologne for many years through our own Open Access solutions as well as through financial support for individual and nationwide Open Access initiatives.
