Our digitization service reliably handles your scanning jobs - from individual documents to complete collections
Our services
1. Order digitization
Do you need scans?
- You can scan individual pages or articles from our collection at our free scanning stations in the library. Remember to bring a USB stick with you!
- You are welcome to send us digitization orders as a PDF by e-mail (Order form_order_digitization_2026.pdf) or hand them in personally as a printout in Reading Room I (1st floor) or in the Historical Collections Reading Room (first floor).(Site plans)
- We provide digitized copies via file transfer.
- We no longer produce printouts (Xerox copies).
We differentiate between these user groups when setting prices:
- 1a - Members and affiliates of the University of Cologne; students and employees.
- 1b - Pupils, trainees, students of other public universities in the Federal Republic of Germany; scientific and research institutions in the Federal Republic of Germany which are predominantly financed from public funds; legal entities under public law in the Federal Republic of Germany, including their members, relatives and employees.
- 2 - Private individuals
- 3 - Independent and commercial customers

3. Digitization for visually impaired students
In cooperation with the Service Center for Inclusion (SZI) , we make study literature readable for visually impaired students.
