Which art goes into the museum – and which does NOT?
Museums collect knowledge
What is collected, exhibited and preserved here has an impact - for generations to come. This art influences the way we perceive our society. But who decides what is collected and on what basis? To what extent do museums and their collections reflect our lives today - especially with regard to diversity, interculturality and global challenges?
Talk round: Which art goes into the museum – and which does NOT?
Discuss together with our four art experts at eye level. Your opinions and experiences are important to us! How do you think collections should be put together and curated in the future?
The event will be held bilingually in German and English spoken language.

donna Kukama
Professor of Contemporary Art / Global South
donna Kukama is also an interdisciplinary artist who uses performance art as a tool for creative research. Wissenschaftsforum zu Köln und Essen
Committed public science is based on openness, competence and the joy of lively discourse. This is precisely how the Cologne and Essen Science Forum sees its task - in open dialog between the disciplines both internally and in a polyphonic exchange with people and media outside the universities. By networking the research communities beyond NRW, knowledge offerings are created that advance social discourse.
Forumsprofessur
The Science Forum organizes "Forum Professorships" with the dedication "Public Science". These are each occupied for one month by a prominent figure from the fields of science, literature or journalism. The forum professors give public lectures within the thematic framework of the Science Forum's current focal points and are available for exchange with the academic and non-academic public in colloquia and other formats during their time at the forum.
