Build consortial open access solutions - KOALA
Starting in January 2023, a total of six titles in the media and social sciences will be jointly funded for three years by nearly 70 different institutions.
From 2023, the publishing bodies undertake to comply with the KOALA minimum standards, which include not only open access, but also points such as long-term archiving, metadata standards, ethical guidelines and the renunciation of data tracking. The KOALA consortium model is intended, among other things, to offer authors the opportunity to publish Open Access without additional costs and bureaucratic effort.
The USB Cologne has been participating financially in KOALA since 2023.
KOALA's pilot portfolio includes the following 2023 - 2025 bundles:
KOALA Media Studies 2023
KOALA Social Sciences 2023
Two new bundles are added with 2024 - 2026:
KOALA Mathematics/Informatics 2024
- Electronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
- SMAI Journal of Computational Mathematics
- Logical Methods in Computer Science
- Australasian Journal of Combinatorics
