OAPEN

We support the OAPEN Library with a membership.

The OAPEN Library is a repository for open access monographs and currently already contains over 26,000 titles, about a quarter of which are in German. It is operated by the non-profit OAPEN Foundation, which is based at the National Library in The Hague.

In cooperation with international libraries, research funders and scholarly publishers, it provides a non-commercial infrastructure at the international level. It makes an important contribution to visibility, discoverability and availability.
The aim is to build a quality-assured collection of OA books and to provide dissemination, quality assurance, and digital preservation services to publishers, libraries, and research funders.

For many years, the University and City Library of Cologne has cooperated with various OA projects on behalf of the university to promote the free publication of scholarly monographs.
