We support the Open Access project transcript OPEN Library Medienwissenschaft.

Every year, 13 new titles are published in the fields of media, film and communication studies. These represent a quality-checked open access collection from transcript Verlag. The high quality of the titles is guaranteed by an expert jury of series editors, editors and academics.

Funding is now provided entirely by a consortium of academic libraries in the German-speaking world. The funds of the participating libraries are pooled in a joint financing of entire collections in Open Access.

For many years, the University and City Library of Cologne has been cooperating with various Open Access projects on behalf of the university to promote the free publication of scientific monographs.
