Filming Permits - our library is becoming more and more popular as a filming location!

A) Shooting in a journalistic context:

Please contact the head of the Marketing staff unit.

B) Commercial Shoots:

Filming permits for commercial filming projects: Please contact University Administration, Dept. 54 Infrastructural Facilities Management.

C) Non-Commercial Shoots/Study Projects:

If you are interested in filming or sound recording with us for a (non-commercial) study project, we will be happy to assist you. Please let us know your wishes in good time.

For filming permission we need this information:

•   Name of your university and department
•   specific details of what is to be filmed and how it is to be filmed
• expected duration of the filming
• if possible, an exposé about the content of the film

These are our conditions for filming in our book depository:

•   Based on the conservational condition of the filmed books, we decide individually on the lighting level.
• We would like to limit filming of originals to the most necessary.
• If possible, facsimiles or digital copies should be used.
• Please mention us as an institution in your film with "University and City Library of Cologne".

We would be pleased to receive a specimen copy of your film or radio piece.
