Where: Foyer of the University and City Library of Cologne.

Exhibition

The artist Reiner Heidorn combines topics such as sustainability and climate change in his own way with the magic and mysticism of nature - the mystery inherent in even the smallest process of growth. A blade of grass in the wind, rain on a meadow, an underwater world in paintings that often seem microscopic draw the viewer into the smallest at first glance, but when one steps back, they point precisely to the environment as a whole and the individual experience of nature of each person.
"Carved structures and formations are sometimes reminiscent of twigs, grass or leaves, but arise freely and without real reference. This creates an intimate closeness to wild nature that is spectacular even in the smallest, most unnoticed places," Heidorn said.
The painter, born in 1966 in Upper Bavaria, makes the color green the basis of his artistic work and dedicates his works to everything that is alive, growing and changing. He has presented his exhibitions in many cities in Europe, the USA, Dubai and Brazil, with a special focus on the relationship between the city and nature in different cultures. The exhibition at the University and City Library Cologne shows current oil paintings of the artist and is open to all visitors free of charge. The exhibition opening with vernissage will take place on February 28, 2023 at 6 pm in the foyer of the library.
