DOI Assignment
With a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), you can ensure that your publications are permanently and uniquely identifiable.
As a researcher at the University of Cologne, you can apply for a DOI through us. We offer a service for registering DataCite DOIs for your research data. The data must be hosted on a server located within the University of Cologne’s domain (.uni-koeln.de).
We’re happy to assist you
Please send an email to doi(at)ub.uni-koeln(dot)de with the following information:
- The URL where the dataset can be found.
- An XML file containing the essential metadata that describes the dataset as a digital resource.
The XML file must conform to the DataCite schema.
You can generate the XML metadata description using our DOI Metadata Generator.
