3. Statement of the dbv on the Agenda 2030

With more than 2,100 members, the German Library Association (dbv) represents around 10,000 libraries nationwide with 25,000 employees and 11 million users. Its central concern is to strengthen libraries so that they provide all citizens with free access to information.


Excerpt from the dbv's statement on Agenda 2030:

"... The German Library Association (dbv) ... draws the attention of the Federal Government to the fact that libraries are relevant cultural and educational institutions with the mission of providing free access to information, which can play an important role in the fulfilment of the Agenda goals for sustainable development ..."
