Reading room / journal display

The Reading Room (first floor) contains general and special reference works (i. e. lexicons, encyclopedias, manuals) and introductory literature on all fields of knowledge. This collection is freely accessible and sorted according to subject group. Some sections of the Reading Room area, bibliographies as well as the journal display (issues of our print subscriptions from the current year) are located on the 2nd floor (access via the Reading Room on the 1st floor).

Historical Collections Reading Room

Older and valuable collections can usually be inspected in the Historical Collections Reading Room without special permission. In the case of particularly valuable or endangered items, the department will decide after consultation with the user. The Historical Collections Reading Room also houses the library of the University Archive.

Human Sciences Reading Room

The Human Science Reading Room contains general and special reference works (i. e. dictionaries, encyclopedias, dictionaries), introductory literature, a special location with the most popular textbooks (including curative education) and journals on all human sciences subjects, with the exception of curative education. You will find this subject in the curative education reading room.

The Department of Human Sciences is in the Faculty of Human Sciences.

Books: general and special reference works (i.e. encyclopaedias, dictionaries), introductory literature, a special location with most requested textbooks ( incl. curative education).
Journal issues of the current year and all journal volumes from 2000 onwards

Books according to subject areas
Current journal issues in flap shelves according to titles
Bound volumes from 2000 onwards on the shelf according to signatures (e.g. Z1234)

Inspection/ viewing
Journal volumes prior to 2000 from the magazine are available on request at the reading room counter without prior order.

Note
Magazines and reading room media can only be scanned in the reading room using the book scanner there. A short loan isn`t longer possible. The weekend lending of reading room media (no journals) is still possible.

Curative Education Reading Room

In the Reading Room you will find journals, reference works and handbooks on curative education, remedial didactics and related sciences. Corresponding works on all other humanities subjects can be found in the Human Sciences Reading Room.
