The loan period is about to expire, but you still need your books? Then take advantage of a renewal!
Exception: Interlibrary loan cannot be renewed.
How you can renew your loan in the Main Library?

When is a renewal possible?
- If the medium has not been reserved by another patron
- Up to seven days before the end of the loan period
- Renewals are possible after the expiration of the loan period.
Please note: In the event of a subsequent renewal, late fees will still apply.
In which event is a renewal rejected?
- When conditions under "When is an renewal possible?" are not met
- Interlibrary loans are excluded from renewal.
Please note: If you renew on the last day of the loan period, you will be charged default fees for rejected renewals on the next day. Therefore, please always carry out renewals in good time.
How often is a renewal possible?
- Borrowed media can be renewed as often as necessary until the maximum loan period of 6 months has been reached.
- The loan period of media that are available for viewing in the reading room is max. 2 months.
