Migration of the websites to Typo3 as of 1 August

On 1 August we are switching our websites to the content management system Typo3. The design remains, but we would like to draw your attention to some changes:

  • Our website structure has been streamlined. In future, you will find all the important information on searching for and ordering literature directly in the University Catalogue.
  • As a result, the website addresses will also change.
  • Currently, created lists of interest are not accessible. Migration of entries is not possible until you log in to the University Catalog. The process of importing the list of interest is initiated when you first log in to the system and takes at least 24 hours.
We make every effort to "save" as many entries as possible. However, we are currently unable to import entries from external catalogs (e.g., from articles & more).
The technically completely different systems of the old and new catalogs generally make migration very difficult.
    Update 16.08.2023:
In the meantime, a technical mechanism has been found to import the old list of interest entries from external catalogues into the new environment. Here, too, we are striving to import those data that can still be exported as promptly and completely as possible.

Why do the web pages have to change now?

At the end of August we are switching to the new library system ALMA. This means that a new online catalogue must also be made available: The COLOGNE UNIVERSITY CATALOGUE - Unikatalog for short. This in turn means that our web pages have to be converted to a new content management system.

By the way, you have already been able to test the Unikatalog since March. Thank you very much for your comments, hints and suggestions for improvement, they helped us a lot. Now the University Catalogue is ready for the real phase.
