Sociology Information Service

On the SocioHub platform, provided by the Specialized Information Service (FID) for Sociology, researchers can showcase their work, coordinate projects, and engage with the community. With over 3,700 members and more than 100 public groups, SocioHub is one of the most important digital infrastructures for sociology in the German-speaking world.

The Specialized Information Service for Sociology is jointly managed by the USB Cologne, GESIS—Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, and the Qualiservice Research Data Center, and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Funding for Open Access Journals

The FID Sociology is continuing the successful “Open Access Bundle for the Social Sciences,” funded through the KOALA project, for the period 2026–2028. Thanks to the support of 80 academic institutions from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the long-term funding of key sociology open-access journals—which make a significant contribution to free scholarly communication in the social sciences—is ensured.
